How to get that iconic 90s makeup look

For those who may not know us as well, we’re a serious makeup brand that knows how to have fun, and we believe in kindness, empowerment and owning your pretty. This will be a space for sharing all sorts of makeup tips, tricks, and hacks, as well as details on our upcoming launches, brand news, and even sneak peeks behind the curtain here at the “Pink Palace.” Welcome!
We wanted to get things going with a stroll down memory lane…to the 90s! As we’re sure you’ve seen & heard, the decade has a chokehold on us lately and we here at Too Faced are not immune. (In fact, we were born in 1998 - an OG 90s baby!) Given our history and expertise with the decade, we knew we had to put our own spin on the trending #90smakeup we’re seeing everywhere, along with some tips & tricks on how to achieve the look.

The key hallmarks of the 90s makeup look really boil down to two things: smoky eyes and nude lips. But as with everything at Too Faced, we always want to update it to feel relevant and modern - and wearable- for today. So our take on #90smakeup is all about playing up your best features to create a truly iconic look.
GET THE LOOK
STEP 1: Using the Born This Way Natural Nudes Palette, apply a matte shade from the lash line to brow bone. We love Petal or Seashell for fair-to-medium skin tones and Warm Rose or Maple for deeper skin tones- but you do you, boo!
STEP 2: Sculpt your crease with a deeper matte shade, such as Warm Rose, Truffle or Cocoa, using a fluffy blender brush. Blend softly upward & outward to diffuse the edges. Then line your bottom lashes with the same shade using a precision liner brush. Don’t worry if it gets slightly smudged- you’re going for that modern smoky eye!
STEP 3: Line your lips with Lip Injection Extreme Lip Shaper Liner in shade Espresso Shot, a gorgeous dark chocolatey nude, and blend inward. Yes, it’s that me espresso!
STEP 4: Finally to finish it all off, swipe on Cocoa Bold Lipstick. We recommend shade Milkshake but we also love Hot Chocolate or Ganache. The creamy texture glides on smoothly and offers a smooth demi-matte finish.
STEP 5: Turn on the Spice Girls, throw on your choker and bucket hat and you’re ready for your 90s glow up!
